One might ask why talk about creation as important information for Yom Kippor?

The answer lies in our understanding of Tshuva. The word repentence and atonement are often used as the equivalent of Tshuva. In truth Tshuva means to return. The ideal which is obtainable in Yom Kippor is to be able to have your slate wiped clean of all aveiras (sins) as if they had never occurred. There are various connections with "In The Begining" the creation which is explained in Torah. Look for that hopefully in the later afternoon today (bli-nedder)..
